Yachi, Fam billed for Lake of Stars Festival

MOJO New Media has announced that the Zambian Music Awards winner Mumba Yachi and Channel O Music Award winner Zone Fam, make Zambia’s line-up for this year’s prestigious Lake of Stars Festival to be hosted in Malawi.
This year’s festival, which is set for September 26, and ends three days later, will not be short of fascinating offering from artistes such as South Africa’s Mafikizolo, Jack Rooster of Kenya and Cable Street Collective of the UK .
Mojo New Media managing director John W. Mwanza is a happy man to send off Zambian envoys in a grand style as he says: “As Mojo, we are proud not only to see our own Mumba Yachi perform at a festival of this calibre but also to see other Zambian acts like Zone Fam. This is a true testament to the growing popularity and elevation of standards on the Zambian music scene.”
He goes on to say: “This festival presents an opportunity for our artistes to broaden their fan bases, share knowledge and experience with other international artistes and also showcase their work beyond the confines of our country.”
Adding to the thrill, Proflight Zambia, which is a partner of the Lake of Stars Festival has equally made a huge announcement – sponsoring the flight of the Zambian artistes billed to perform at the festival.
It’s not strictly business for the leading local airline as Hellen Mwamba, the Proflight Zambia marketing manager, explains: “Proflight Zambia brings people together from across the region with our three-times-week flights between Lusaka and Lilongwe, so it’s a natural fit to help Lake of Stars bring musicians and fans together to celebrate the best of arts and culture in the region.”
Apart from the tremendous entertainment on offer, the Lake of Stars festival targets to promote arts and tourism through international interaction and exposure.
The festival is organised on the shores of Lake Malawi and run events in Europe and across Africa. The festival attracts artistes from all over the world including Zambia.

The Zambian artistes were officially announced and welcomed into Lake of Stars at Mojo New Media premises in Olympia.
