BUDDING musician Patrick Mulenga, stage-named Patku Shyku, is later this year scheduled to release a yet to be titled 15-track album.
Patku Shyku tells DStv Entertainment that he is working on a collaboration with a friend called Dix Homeboy on his latest studio project.
The duo, who both hail from Northern Province in Kasama, are jointly called NorthGangstars.
Some of the tracks that are expected to push the 26-year-old music ‘wannabe’ to top charters are songs such as, Wilekako featuring Alpha Romeo, Number one lady featuring  Thou, Bushe and Tonight, a duet of Chrismo and Zilian.
The rapper draws his music inspiration from Kopala Swag wonder-boy Macky 2, while international artistes Akon and Pitt-bull have influenced his music career as well.
Patku Shyku is currently pursuing computer science engineering at Copperbelt University (CBU), which he wants to marry with his Accountancy qualifications that he obtained from ZCAS.
In his quest to imprint a signature on the local music scene with the fans, Patku Shyku recently performed at Lusaka’s East Point discotheque, where he shared the stage with songbird Mampi.
The pint-size singer has bemoaned the challenges facing upcoming musicians with intentions of pursuing a career in music.
“If you are not known in the music circles it is very difficult for these established studios to sign you to their label. As if that is not enough, almost all radio stations ask for money if they are to play your songs on radio”, he notes.
The young artist owes all the little success he has achieved so far to the Creator, God, and his family.
“I would like to thank God for everything he has done in my life, my family and friends for the support they always give me.
“Lastly, my messages to my fellow Zambians and artistes as the country turns 50 years is to be united because as united, ‘we stand and divided we fall’”, says Patku Shyku.
Born on February 22, 1988 in Kasama, Patrick went to Mulenga Chipoya primary school, before completing in 2006 at Kasama Boys High schools.
