32 refugees relocated to Mayukwayukwa

THE Immigration Department has relocated a total of 32 refugees rounded up from Chibolya and Kabwata, to Mayukwayukwa Refugee Camp.
In a statement released yesterday, Immigration acting public relations officer Mubanda Chileshe said the 32, who were relocated on Monday, comprised 23 females, 9 males and 3 children.
A Congolese was also on the same day relocated to Maheba Refugee Camp.
Meanwhile, the magistrate court in Lusaka has convicted and fined a Zambian woman K6,000 for using her sister’s passport.
In Eastern Province, eight Malawians were on Monday convicted and sentenced to fines ranging from K150 to K500 or for illegal stay.
In Chirundu, the Immigration arrested a Burundese for traveling using a Tanzanian travel document. The same office arrested a Congolese and a Zimbabwean for illegal entry.
In Luangwa, Immigration arrested three Zimbabweans, a Gambian and a Saudi for illegal entry, while two Congolese and an Angolan for illegal stay.
A Gambian was detained at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) for disembarking wrongly at KKIA pending connection flight to his destination in Malawi.
In Lusaka, a magistrate court fined a Zambian K300 or for aiding a Tanzanian to acquire a passport, while the same theTanzanian was also slapped with the same punishment.
In Ndola, the magistrates court on Tuesday, convicted and fined a Congolese K1,500 for illegal stay and entry and two others to K1,500 and K1,000 respectively.
In Chanida Tete, two Chinese were arrested after one of them was found in possession of a Zambian registered firearm and an employment permit.
The duo is in custody pending further investigations. The department also arrested three Israelis and a South African who had no documentation.
Similarly, two Uzbekistanis were arrested at a dental clinic as they were found in possession of study permits but were found working at clinic.
