By CHARITY MOONGA –
PATRIOTIC FRONT (PF) deputy secretary general Bridget Atanga has called for an immediate end to planned demonstrations against senior party officials that had been taking place in Livingstone and Mandevu constituencies.
Speaking at a press briefing yesterday, Ms Atanga said the continued planned demonstrations were as a result of indiscipline and disloyalty to the party and the President who put the said structures in place.
Ms Atanga’s call comes in the wake of demonstrations by some PF members in Livingstone against Southern Province Minister Daniel Munkombwe and friction among constituents in Mandevu in Lusaka.
She said all members of the PF must uphold discipline and avoid violence by working with the existing structures of the party at all times.
“PF members must know that demonstrating against an official appointed by Mr Sata or an elected official is tantamount to indiscipline and disloyalty to the party,” she said.
PF had continued to preach the need for discipline and unity in the party with the full support of President Michael Sata.
