CHIEFSPresident Michael Sata has called for dialogue between Government and traditional leaders in order to foster peace and development in the country.
President Sata said Government viewed dialogue as an important aspect in national development.
The Head of State said this was why Government created the Ministry of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs.
President Sata said this in a statement by Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Joseph Katema when he called on Senior Chief Mununga at his palace at the weekend.
The President commended Senior Chief Mununga for encouraging his subjects to venture into various businesses as alternatives to fishing.
And speaking earlier through his nephew Michael Mununga, Senior Chief Mununga called on Government to invest in the energy industry in the area.
The traditional ruler said his chiefdom had plenty of water in Kalungwishi River which could support a hydro power station and boost the generation of power in the province and the country as a whole.-ZANIS
