“Health authorities will now inform the Cape Verdean Football Federation to also notify the Confederation of African Football to change the refereeing team,” Radiotelevisao Caboverdiana stated.
The four Senegalese match officials are Referee Malang Diedhou who will be assisted by Djibril Camara and El Hadji Malick Samba while Maguette Ndiaye is the reserve official.
The match commissioner is Aboubakar Alim Konate of Cameroon.
Next week’s meeting between Chipolopolo and Cape Verde will be the two sides first-ever clash.
Cape Verde are in action today away to Niger in Niamey while Chipolopolo host Mozambique at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Meanwhile, SANDRA MWILA reports that Zambia Sports Fans Association (ZASOFA) strongman Peter Makembo has requested Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili to consider carrying some fans in the plane government intends to charter to Cape Verde.
Makembo said there was need for the fans to be given some seats on the plane to enable them go and cheer the Chipolopolo in a crucial AFCON qualifier.
“We are ready to go and cheer the team but we hope the Sports Minister can give us some seats on the plane. The brass band is always ready and we wish to commend the Government for the move to charter a plane,” he said.
