2 nabbed for attempted bribery

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in Kitwe has arrested two accounts personnel at Kazenene Investments Limited in Kitwe for attempting to bribe National Pensions Scheme Authority (NAPSA) officers with K 30, 000.
The ACC arrested Charles Mabo Sampule, an accountant at Kazenene Investments Ltd and Francis Chishala, an assistant accountant of the same firm on Thursday.
ACC public relations officer Timothy Moono confirmed the development.He said the two had been jointly charged with one count of corrupt practices with public officer.
Mr Moono said details of the offence were that the duo, corruptly offered K 30,000 and actually gave K10, 000 cash gratification to Brian Ntanda and Kambole Mutiti, as an inducement to facilitate the illegal reduction or scrapping off of the contribution arrears and penalties owed by Kazenene Investments Ltd to NAPSA.
The duo has been released on bond and will appear in Court on September 19, 2014.
