THE Haus of May last Saturday held a fashion show at the Lusaka Museum to raise money for the less privileged in the society.
Beauty queens drawn from higher institutions of learning under the IEmerge Talent Agency showcased their modelling skills to enthral the sizeable crowd that trooped to the museum.
According to Maurice Siamwizwe who was one of the organisers, the project was aimed at raising funds to feed street kids every two weeks.
“ We are going to do a lot of things based on Christianity apart from teaching the street kids on safe sex education … we also advise them on activities about their lives … with the funds that we have raised we are going to buy them food. We are hoping to have another fundraising fashion show before the end of the year,” says Siamwizwe.
Jucyclin Nyanjwa , the Chief Executive Officer of I Emerge Talent Agency explained that the agency was intended to raise more to help in a much bigger way.
“Whenever you hear of the Sunday smiles project come through and support it. We are going to use Komboni radio and tell people about the project to raise money to help the less privileged in the society”, says Nyanjwa.
Among the models that mesmerised the audience was the reigning Miss Culture Zambia 2014, Brandina Imbuli. Apart from being a promising talented beauty pageant, the young diva is pursuing a course in Laboratory technology at Evelyn Hone College.
The 18 year old’s hobbies include making friend , modelling, reading magazines and meeting new friends.
She has played major roles in the keep Zambia clean campaign and sensitising the public about Tuberculosis (TB) and HIV/AIDS diseases.
She has also been active in donations to various orphanages and health institutions such as Kumachanga Hospital in Mufulira and different schools on the Copperbelt and Lusaka.
All the models who participated in the fashion show volunteered to help raise money for the less privileged kids in the society.
