A TWENTY-EIGHT-YEAR-OLD woman of Mushili Kansengu Township in Ndola has been allegedly raped by a man who gave her a lift after attending a braai.
The woman was allegedly raped by Akabondo Akabondo, 25, of Single Quarter’s commando area on Friday last week.
Copperbelt Police chief Joyce Kasosa said yesterday that the incidence happened after the woman left a braai in Masala Township around 23:00 hours to go to her home in Mushili Township.
“The victim was given a lift by the suspect who took her in the bush and allegedly raped and dumped her there,” she said.
Ms Kasosa said Police had since apprehended the suspect and remanded him in Police custody.
Meanwhile, a security guard at Chelu Security Company was on Saturday morning found dead by his workmate.
Ms Kasosa said Pilo Masaka of Mushili Township is believed to have been killed between Friday 16:30 and 07:30 hours the following day.
She said the victim was found with a deep cut on the forehead, a broken right arm and another deep cut on the right leg.
The victim was believed to have been stoned to death by his killers because stones were found at the scene of the incident.
“The scene was visited and stones were found that are believed to have been used to murder the man and both legs appeared to have been tied,” she said.
