THIRTY coaches are scheduled to attend a 10-day Zambia basketball Association (ZBA) Young Coaches Module One clinic under the auspices of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Africa Zone at Lusaka’s Olympic Youth Development Centre.
ZBA general secretary Mwembe Kaona said the clinic which starts this Friday is a beginners’ qualification in the grading structure of FIBA Africa.
“The Young Coaches Module One Clinic will be conducted by Kenyan based instructor Sam Wanjohi who arrives in Zambia tomorrow. ZBA applied for the clinic to be held in Zambia so that its coaches can be trained and graded according to international standards, hence expect the coaches selected to take the programme seriously,” he said.
He said the coaches expected to attend the clinic were drawn from Copperbelt, Luapula, Lusaka and Northern provinces.
He added that ZBA was yet to receive names from the Central, Eastern, Western, North-Western and Southern provinces.
Among the coaches selected were Mulenga Balamani, Harry Chansa (Zcas Blazers) Noah Mabutwe (Napsa Hurricanes), Joe Mhango (Green Buffaloes), Paul Mwale (Junior Looters) Bahati Ndumba (Napsa Breeze) Ndenge Nguni (ZBA technical wing) Ken Nkandu (LCC Looters).
Others are Madden Alamu (Nchanga), Hendrix Chalwe (MEF Fishers) Nkunde Chileshe (Kasama Eagles) Moses Chisha (Riverside Spartans) Patrick Kunda (Fairview Falcons), Kansoni Luwawa (Ndola Nets) and Shem Mwewa (Kwacha Crusaders), George Mwila (Mansa Rockets) Mwansa Mubita (Copperbelt Energy), Brian Mukuka (Mansa Stars), Chiwasha Ngulube (MufurilaMagnets) and Kabwe Sichilima (St Johns – Kasama).
