By CHILA NAMAIKO –

A MAN in Choma has allegedly committed suicide by drinking a poisonous substance after a domestic quarrel with his wife.

Sources within the neighbourhood identified the deceased as a Mr Liketa, aged between 30 and 40, and said he allegedly fought with his wife on Tuesday evening.

Southern Province Police Chief Charity Katanga, however, could not confirm the matter by press time as she had not yet received the information.

But the neighbours told the Times yesterday that the man allegedly drunk an unknown toxic substance shortly before he went to bed with his wife who did not notice anything suspicious.

They said the deceased slept on the same bed with his wife who only discovered that he was dead in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The body of the deceased was taken by some family members to Choma General Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
