By PERPETUAL SICHIKWENKWE –

GAME Stores Zambia manager, Maduramuthoo Mare Palan has pleaded not guilty to sexually abusing a former female employee.
Palan, 46, of house number 8 Mass Media in Lusaka told principal magistrate, Aridah Chuulu when he appeared before her yesterday that he understood the offences slapped against him but he was not guilty.
He is being defended by three lawyers from Eric Silwamba, Jalasi and Lubinda Legal practitioners.
Palan, a South African, is facing two counts of indecent assault and sexual abuse.
It is alleged in the first count that Palan between June 1, 2013 and July 31, this year in Lusaka unlawfully and indecently assaulted Mukamuluti Mwila.
Palan is in the second count alleged to have practised sexual harassment which caused discomfort on Ms Mwila, who was at the time a worker at Game Stores Manda Hill.
Ms Chuulu has since set September 5, this year as a date for trial.
The State will call about 14 witnesses to support Ms Mwila’s evidence against Palan.
Palan was arrested a fortnight ago after Ms Mwila reported the matter to the Police.
