A ONE-YEAR-NINE-MONTH-OLD baby has allegedly been defiled by her uncle in Kitwe’s Bulangililo Township.
The baby was defiled between Sunday and Tuesday this week by the uncle who used ‘Jiggies’ to lure her into his bedroom.
Copperbelt Commissioner of Police Joyce Kasosa yesterday confirmed the incident and named the suspect as Clement Tembo, aged 21, who had since been arrested.
Ms Kasosa said Tembo lived in the same house with the victim and used to give the minor Jiggies to invite her to his room.
“The girl later informed her mother that her uncle had been touching her private parts and placed a big thing there, which made her feel pain,” Ms Kasosa said.
She said the minor sustained bruises on the private parts following the alleged defilement by the uncle, who was in police custody.
