THE University Teaching Hospital (UTH) has hailed Airtel for its commitment towards rendering supporting to the hospital to ease operations.
UTH managing director, Lackson Kasonka said UTH was one of the institutions that required the support of various stakeholders to ensure it continued to operate smoothly.
Dr Kasonka said this in Lusaka yesterday when Airtel donated various items including a stove, food stuffs, kitchen and cleaning utensils, to the UTH’s mother’s shelter.
“We are a hospital with a lot of needs and demands that we seem not to be affording due to the limited financing that we get. This event serves as an example to others that are still standing on the fence that are in the same business that Airtel is to come through and help UTH do what they are expected to do,” Dr Kasonka said.
He said UTH was one such hospital with a lot of needs and demands that the management seems not to be affording due to limited financing that the institution gets.
He said the gesture by the mobile provider saved as an example to many other business organisations to emulate it.
Airtel managing director, Charity Lumpa said Airtel would continue to join hands with UTH in bringing development in a meaningful way and ease the challenges faced by the health institution.
