A SMALL-SCALE farmer of Ndola has won the K100, 000 prize in the Airtel Pyeee promotion .
Richard Bwalya, 50, a father of 11, of Nkwazi area, could not hide his joy and said the money had come at the right time.
“I am the happiest man alive. I will use the money to buy a welder and house,” Mr Bwalya said.
He said he would also use part of the money to help widows and orphans in Serenje, where he ran a social justice project.
“I am very passionate about social justice. The issues of widows, orphans and vulnerable children are at the centre of my heart,” he said.
And in a statement, Airtel marketing director Mitwa Ng’ambi said the score and win competition was introduced to broaden its customers’ knowledge of soccer and Zambia.
“Our promotion is aligned to Zambia’s Golden Jubilee and gives the participants an opportunity to learn about soccer and Zambia and reward those who have knowledge on the two,” she said.
So far Airtel had paid out K276, 000 in cash prizes using Airtel Money to 60 winners across the country.
The competition started on 17th June, 20 and ends on September 17.
