MOST of the 98 people who were admitted to Kitwe Central Hospital (KCH) for suspecting poising after drinking a traditional brew commonly known as ‘munkoyo’, have been discharged.
Hospital public relations officer Grey Chishimba said the hospital was in the morning remaining with less than 10 people from those that had been admitted for suspected poisoning last Saturday.
Mr Chishimba said yesterday in an interview that the majority of the patients had been discharged after they were examined and confirmed to be out of danger.
“By this morning (yesterday) there were only less than 10 still admitted,” Mr Chishimba said.
52 adults and 46 children were at the weekend rushed to KCH where they were admitted for suspected poisoning after drinking munkoyo during a funeral at house number 13 Mpumba Street in Chachacha Township.
