Napsa 0 Zanaco 0
LEAGUE leaders Zanaco title charge was yesterday checked by an in-form Napsa Stars side that held them to a barren draw but was enough to see the bankers open up a four-point lead at the summit of the MTN-FAZ Premier League table.
With both sides missing regular scorers during the Week 19 fixtures in Saith Sakala for Napsa and Davy Daka for Zanaco, both out on national duties with the Zambia Under-20 currently in camp), the cutting edge upfront was lacking but saw brothers Dominic and Donewell Yobe, playing for either side get booked.
This result however means Zanaco go four points clear of second placed Zesco United, who drew 2-2 with Green Buffaloes on Wednesday, on 43 points while Napsa jumped into third on 36 points replacing Power Dynamos, also on 36 points.
Assembly 2 Indeni 0
National Assembly beat Indeni to record their first win in seven league games to see their fortunes start taking an upward swing after an early kick off at Woodlands Stadium.
Goals by Aaron Silwimba and Chiluba Tiki took Assembly to 25 points and safely into the top eight while Indeni slid back into the bottom four with 19 points.
Eagles 1 Warriors 2
In Choma, 10-men Kabwe Warriors collected a morale boosting win over Green Eagles at the Independence Stadium where giants have fallen to move out from the relegation zone into eighth place with 22 points.
Goals from Meki Kabeeya in the 13th minute and Siloni Jere 26th minute were enough to give Warriors the needed victory to displace the home side into ninth place on the log on 21 points.
Warriors were reduced to a man down when Solomon Sakala was shown a red card in the 65th minute gifting Eagles with a penalty that was converted by goalkeeper Satchmo Chakawa
Arrows 0 Mine Police 0
At Nkoloma Stadium, coach Mathews Phiri and his assistant Albert Kachinga started their reign with a draw that saw Red Arrows end their losing streak that had stretched to eight straight matches.
However, Arrows remain third from bottom on 18 points while Konkola Mine Police remain rock bottom with 13 points.
Playing today: Power Dynamos v Nchanga Rangers, Konkola Blades v Nakambala Leopards
