SOME shops within Lusaka’s town centre have continued selling their merchandises without displaying the price tags.
This is done to allow the shopkeeper and other workers attending to the unsuspecting customers to abnormally inflate the prices and pocket any amounts above the official prices as “commission.”
Talking shop notes that in so doing, the owners of these shops are abetting the exploitation of consumers by shopkeepers.

WHILE others are increasing the prices of bread and other confectioneries, Spar Stores has reduced its bread from about K5 to K3.90 per loaf.
This is attracting influx of customers, especially considering that in some areas, the price of bread has risen to as high as K6.50 per loaf.

STILL on prices of bread, Pick n’ Pay outlet at Lusaka’s Levy Business Park has become like a wholesaler of bread as marketeers buy it in large quantities for resale.
This is evident when moving on Church Road on the flyover bridge where people with wheelbarrows full of loaves of bread heading to the town centre have become common.
