CHONGWE Member of Parliament (MP) Sylvia Masebo has urged her constituents to support President Michael Sata for the area to continue benefiting from Government’s development agenda.
Ms Masebo said in Chongwe’s Katoba area when she officiated at the handover of 4,000 mosquito nets and 300 blankets on wednesday this week that her constituents should remain united and desist from paying attention to gossip.
“All the developments that you are seeing here in Chongwe in the last two years, such as the roads, the clinic, Mwacheya Secondary School, all these things have been necessitated by President Sata. That’s why I was telling you in the past to support President Sata.
“Like I predicted, you are now able to see development here within two years of him being in power and I want to ask you to continue supporting him because we still have two more years remaining and two more years remaining is a lot of time if we remain united and we support him so that more development can come to Chongwe,” she said.
Ms Masebo said Katoba area still required electrification and water, among other needs, which she said would come to fruition if the people of Chongwe continued rallying behind President Sata and the Patriotic Front (PF) Government.
Ms Masebo observed that there were too many fictitious stories circulating in the country and thus urged the traditional leaders not to believe false stories peddled by opposition members.
Meanwhile, Ms Masebo thanked the Anglican Church for donating the mosquito nets and the Muslim community for the blankets to her constituency and tasked the traditional leadership in the area to ensure the items were given to the intended beneficiaries.
