THE Kitwe City Christian Ministers Fellowship (KCCMF) has distanced itself from a bishop that was apprehended for sexually abusing nine women from his church.
The bishop that was apprehended on Monday for allegedly sexually abusing nine female church members on the pretext that he was cleansing them of evil spirits.
Dominic Nyondo, 47, of Holy Fire Ministry, was apprehended for allegedly abusing female church members aged between 14 and 20 between 2010 and December 2013 on the pretext that he was casting out demons.
KCCMF chairperson Raddy Lewila said in Kitwe yesterday that the fellowship condemned such unbiblical behavior conducted in the name of the church.
Bishop Lewila said that Bishop Nyondo was not a member of the pastor’s fellowship.
“We have established that Bishop Nyondo runs an independent ministry registered with the registrar of societies.
“We categorically state that he is not a member of the Kitwe City Christian Ministers Fellowship,” he said.
He advised the public to be careful with such self styled and dangerous individuals carrying out deliverance and prayers in isolated places other than the church.
Chimwemwe Union Baptist Church Evangelist Osward Mwewa said Bishop Nyondo should be condemned for his actions.
Evangelist Mwewa, who quoted from 1Timothy 5 verse 20, said those who sinned should be rebuked publicly so that others could learn.
