SPORT-In-Action (SIA) president, Clement Chileshe has said the construction of the £35,000 (about K315,000) mini multipurpose sports facility at the centre will start immediately after the rainy season.
Speaking yesterday when the United Kingdom-based swimmer, who donated the funds, visited the SIA offices located at the Kabwata Constituency office, Chileshe expressed happiness that the initiative to build a sports facility in the area will finally take off after five years of seeking for permission to build on the land.
Chileshe said Kabwata Constituency was doing well in sports and that the facility would be built at the right place because youths in the area are passionate about sports.
He said the youngest player during the Supreme Council for Sports in Africa (SCSA) Zone Six Youth Games, Leah Siliya came from Kabwata and was positive that the facility would contribute positively to the various national teams.
