JUDOKA Nokuthula Banda is tomorrow expected to leave for a training camp in Switzerland before ahead of the Nanjing 2014 Olympic Youth Games.
Banda, who will be the only judoka representing Zambia at the Youth Olympic Games, would be accompanied by national coach Moola Lipimile to Switzerland where she will be before proceeding directly to Nanjing.
Lipimile said in an interview that the training to be conducted by the International Judo Federation (IJF) will greatly help Banda fine tune ahead of the Games as she will gain the necessary exposure.
He said the training camp will be attended by all judokas that will be competing at the Youth Olympics and will be exposed to high level training by experienced coaches.
“I am positive that the training camp to be conducted by highly qualified coaches will be beneficial for Nokuthula including myself as it will help us polish up in certain areas and learn new things,” he said.
He said training camp will be a bonus to Banda as she is partly ready for the Youth Olympics slated for August 16 to 23.
