ZAMBIA Under-17 coach Chris Kaunda says his side is ready to face Botswana in the Niger 2015 Africa Junior Championship in the second round first leg qualifier on Sunday at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.
Kaunda has, however, warned his side against underrating Botswana because the neighbouring nation has equally improved in terms of its footballing standards.
He said Botswana should be taken seriously as they can be the surprise package should Zambia head into the match thinking the match has already been won.
Kaunda said the players should work hard and ensure they pick up a big result ahead of the return leg.
“I have told my players not to underrate Botswana because they have equally improved and may just beat us if we overate ourselves. But I am confident the players will use the experienced gained during the international tournament in Italy where we played the likes of Brazil and Italy,” he said.
Kaunda said he was impressed with the high levels of fitness in the team adding that he had an injury free team thereby broadening his choice of selection when naming the final team.
He also expressed happiness that captain and striker Paston Daka was back in training and fighting for his place which he said was good encouragement and a sign that he has recovered well.
