THE Chipata-Mchinji Railway line has so far generated K700,000 in the months of May and June.
Zambia Railways Limited Nacala director Vyonsi Manda said in Chipata yesterday that the railway line was happy with the amount of money being generated so far.
He, however, said the business communities in Zambia had not yet taken full advantage of the Nacala Corridor.
Mr Manda said that this could be because a lot of clients were still using the Durban and Beira ports due to long term haulage contracts they could have signed.
He said that most of the goods transported on the route so far were by Malawian and Mozambican business communities.
