Letters to the Editor -LogoBRAZIL 2014 proved to have been a tremendous tournament both in organisation and talent, the team that was best prepared emerged victorious after a combined total of 64 games.
Next stop Russia 2018, with Vladimir Putin picking the World Cup for Russia, they set preparations for another tournament that is set to be magnificent.
So too must the preparations for qualification of the Zambia National soccer team to the Russia  World Cup 2018 begin in earnest.
Having missed out on qualification at the just ended Samba-filled tournament it is very important that Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) lays out a plan to, not only qualify but represent the continent and the country with pride and bring joy to the many who would be watching.
Patrice Beaumelle must be encouraged by setting out high-profile friendlies to test the mantle of the Zambian lads and the net must be cast wide to ensure that the quest to qualify for Russia is achieved when the qualifications begin in 2016.
Africa’s dismal performance at the just ended tournament does put pressure on the teams to make the cut next time, so if we are to see our talented lads at the next grand football showpiece, let the preparations begin now.
PF is more than ready to support this cause that not only unites the country but also brings joy to all that watch and follow soccer as it transcends bridges.

Investigate African Life Assurance

I write this letter to share my heartbreaking and frustrating experience. Last month, I went to the bank to get my salary only to be greeted by a shortfall of K463. Not only was I shocked but also inconvenienced by the sad development. Upon checking my pay statement, I painfully discovered  it was African Life Assurance that had wrongly deducted without my consent. I am appealing to our listening Government to probe the company and find out who gave the firm powers to effect a deduction. The regulator of such insurance companies must be serious and if possible deregister them.

Thumbs up to Barclays

I COULDN’T help but share this interesting innovation that Barclays Bank has introduced.

First, it was the ‘voice over’ that echoes your product desires(as a customer) which I believe has contributed immensely to less congestion on queues. Then the latest electronic signature  pad which reduces paperwork.
I think the technological advancements made so far rate Barclays Bank as the ultimate bank of choice.
The many ATMs dotted around further enhance one’s ability to  timely deposits and withdrawals with minimum delay.

Good job Barclays!
