DOCBy PERPETUAL SICHIKWENKWE-
A LUSAKA business executive has u-turned and pleaded guilty in all the four counts of impersonating a medical doctor, and obtaining goods and money by false pretences.
Bonaventure Nguni, 32, of George Township, last week pleaded guilty to two counts of impersonating a medical doctor at University Teaching Hospital (UTH) and Levy Mwanawasa and that of obtaining money by false pretences but denied the charge of obtaining goods by false pretences.
But when the matter came up for reading of facts in the three counts in which he had pleaded guilty, Nguni told Lusaka magistrate Sheila Mweene that he was guilty in all the counts.
He told the count that he went against the law when he stole the laptops from UTH with the intention to sell them so that he could raise money.
Ms Mweene reserved reading of facts and sentencing of Nguni to today.
Nguni in the first count impersonated a doctor on April 10, 2014 and administered treatment on Peggy Tembo.
In the second count, Nguni defrauded and obtained K160,000 cash from Ms Tembo as fees for the treatment at Levy Mwanawasa General Hospital.
Nguni in the third count impersonated a doctor, and treated Henry Mulenga on May 19 this year at UTH.
In count four, he obtained goods by false pretences after deceiving Peter Lemba and obtained two Dell and Hewlett Packard laptops by pretending that he was a doctor at UTH.
