MMD leader Nevers Mumba has said that he is hopeful his party will bounce back into power in 2016 because of its track record of achievements.
Dr Mumba said MMD had all the reasons to regain power because of its good economic achievements and policies that the Zambian people were currently missing.
Speaking at Mpatamato Sports Complex in Luanshya, when he flagged off campaigns for the Mpatamato Ward 21 by-election yesterday, Dr Mumba said the former ruling party was still alive as evidenced by people who were talking about it.
“We are still very strong and hopeful of bouncing back to power,” Dr Mumba said.
“We are ready to come back, we believe in democracy and we will make sure that all the people in Zambia are free.”
The former ruling party is fielding Evaristo Chama in the local government by-election that was caused following the conviction a Patriotic Front (PF) councillor for examination malpractice. The by-election takes place on August 19.
The opposition leader called on his members to tell the people about the differences of what the MMD had done when in power and what was currently prevailing under the PF administration.
