2 ex-FRA officials nabbed

THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in Mansa has arrested two former Food Reserve Agency (FRA) employees for corrupt practices involving more than K7,000.
ACC public relations manager Timothy Moono said Godfrey Yabe of house number 429 Medium Density area in Mansa, and Dewin Mbolela of Komboniya Site and Service in Mansa, both formally based at Mansa FRA Main Depot as Data Entry clerks were arrested on Thursday this week.
Mr Moono said the two have been jointly charged with two counts of fraudulent false accounting and one count of Theft by Public Servant contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
“In the first count, details are that Yabe and Mbolela, on dates unknown but between 1st and 30th June 2013 in Mansa, while employed as clerks at FRA, jointly and while acting together with intent to defraud FRA, made false entries into FRA documents, a matter or transaction concerning FRA, a public body.
“In the second count, details are that Yabe and Mbolela on dates unknown but between 1st and 31st July 2014 in Mansa, jointly and whilst acting together with intent to defraud FRA, made false entries into FRA documents,” he said.
Mr Moono said in the third count, the two, between 1st and 30th June, 2013 in Mansa, being persons employed in the public service stole K7,968.90, from FRA.
In count four, Mr Moono said Yabe and Mbolela, between 1st January 2013 and 31st August 2013 uttered a false document with intent to defraud FRA.
Yabe and Mbolela have since been released on bond and will appear in court soon.
