GREEN Eagles at the weekend scooped the Midlands Netball Association (MINA) and Southern Netball Association (SONA) tournament held in Livingstone.
The Zambia National Service (ZNS) sponsored team emerged first in the round robin games to claim the K1, 200 top prize with a trophy while Lusaka City Council (LCC), who finished second walked away with K900 cash and a runners up trophy.
LCC also had their player Martha Kafupi win the player of the tournament award for her outstanding performance in the women’s category..
Arrows walked away with K500 cash and a trophy for finishing third.
The men’s category saw Nkwazi reign supreme to claim to scoop the K800 cash prize with ZNS Makeni emerging runners up to bag home K500.
In the Madalas category, LCC emerged stronger to bag home K1000 after outsmarting other teams to win first place.
Zesco pocketed K800 after finishing second with Ministry of Health (MOH), who finished third, walking away with K500 as Clementina Chisha of MOH emerged best player in the category.
The Player of tournament award went Alex Chilambwe of Nkwazi while Sarai Mwandalesa of LCC won the Umpire of tournament award.
