GOVERNMENT is keen to continue infrastructure development in all parts of the country, Health Deputy Minister Chitalu Chilufya has said.
Dr Chilufya said it was for this reason that Government had embarked on the robust Link Zambia 8000 road project to reshape the country’s road network.
Dr Chilufya said this at the weekend when he paid a courtesy call on Mwinilunga District Commissioner, Ireen Mate and toured the district hospital to check on service delivery as well as various developmental projects.
“As PF Government, we have made a resolution that there will be no place that will be too remote to take development to. So linking various districts under the Link Zambia 8000 project is a key priority for Government,” Dr Chilufya said.
Dr Chilufya is on a five-day tour of North-Western Province to check on service delivery in the health sector and infrastructure development.
Dr Chilufya said having a good road network to enhance transportation was important as this played a big role in the development of the economy.
He said Government was determined to ensure timely completion of the Link Zambia 8000 road project.
He also disclosed that Government had this year allocated K200, 000 for the refurbishing of the Mwinilunga District Hospital and another K500, 000 to upgrade the mortuary, kitchen and x-ray departments at Luwi Mission Hospital in the district.
Ms Mate said the district was on track in terms of implementing developmental projects and improving services delivery.
She said roads which were under the Link Zambia 8000 project were already being worked on.
