NKANA striker Evans Kangwa has joined Israeli club Hapoel Ra’anana on a one year loan deal.
The Zambian champions, apart from having to play without Kangwa for the rest of the season, will also be without winger Bruce Musakanya who has been recalled by Red Arrows after a six-month loan move to attend trials in South Africa.
Nkana secretary Ken Mwansa said in an interview in Kitwe yesterday that Kangwa will leave for Israel this afternoon.
“Kangwa is joining Hapoel Ra’anana on a one year loan with an option to buy him. We are happy with the deal, it is a good deal and we said let him go and try his luck,” Mwansa said.
Ra’anana already have defender Francis Kasonde on their books after extending his short-term deal with the club last season.
Kangwa’s move comes after recent strong interest from South African club Orlando Pirates.
“Pirates have never came back to us after they pushed in the inquiry and we  wrote back to them that they give us an offer but they never responded to us,” Mwansa said.
Kangwa leaves Nkana after scoring eight goals in all competition since the start of the year. He also has two goals for Zambia scored in Chipolopolo 2-1 friendly win over Uganda on March 5 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Meanwhile, Musakanya’s six-month loan with Nkana has not been extended.
“The information that we have from the Arrows secretary is that Musakanya is going for trials at Amazulu and we are also told they have other interest from another South African club who want him on an outright purchase,” Mwansa said.
Musakanya joined Nkana in January scoring two goals but saw very little action due to injury and fitness problems.
Mwansa said Nkana are still battling to get striker Festus Mbewe clearance from Golden Arrows following the expiry of his six-month loan deal with the demoted South African PSL club.
