THE University of Zambia (UNZA) has called for the integration of Information Communication Technology (ICT) programmes in the tertiary curricular, to broaden access to knowledge on technological advancements.
Acting Vice- Chancellor, Mick Mwala said tertiary institutions should incorporate ICT training in their programmes to ensure that there was access to ICT information at all levels, including tertiary.
Dr Mwala was speaking in Luanshya yesterday at the 44th convocation and graduation ceremony of the Technical Vocation Teachers College (TVTC).
The graduation ceremony was held under the theme “Broadening access to quality technical and vocational education beyond walls after 50 years of independence”.
TVTC acting Principal Sangista Jere said that 638 students had successfully completed their programmes in December 2013 and April 2014.
Ms Jere said the institution would continue to implement innovative strategies that would increase access to technical and vocational skills among Zambians.
