POLICE in Chisamba have arrested a 22-year-old unemployed youth who was allegedly found having sex with a goat.
The suspect identified as Charles Siyamba was allegedly found having carnal knowledge of a goat around 16:00 hours on Thursday in the Mumbalane Forest.
Central Province commissioner of police Standwell Lungu said the suspect has since been charged with bestiality and that he would appear in court soon.
He explained that the suspect was found in the act by relatives, who grabbed him and later handed him over to police.
“I can confirm that we have arrested a youth who was allegedly found having carnal knowledge of goat and was later handed over to police by how own relatives,” he said.
Meanwhile, one of the three military personnel who were injured after an explosive device they were handling exploded, has been discharged from hospital.
The soldiers, two from the Zambia Army and the other from Zambia Air force (ZAF) were admitted to Kabwe General Hospital after they allegedly attempted to open a bomb shell using a grinder. But the device exploded blowing off one officer’s hand.
The three were identified as Brian Chama a ZAF soldier, Domingo Harris and Paul Sichwaya both from Zambia Army in Kabwe.
Mr Sichwaya had his hand cut off from his wrist, as well as forefingers on his right hand, while Mr Chama sustained a cut on his palm.
Mr Harris, who sustained a swollen arm, has since been discharged from hospital.
In another incident, two people died on the spot while five others sustained injuries after a Toyota Regius Registration Number ALP 3802 they were travelling on overturned after a tyre burst in Eastern Province.
Police acting public relations officer Esther Katongo confirmed the accident happened on Thursday.
