By JAMES KUNDA –
MORE than 400 exhibitors have confirmed participation in this year’s
Zambia International Trade Fair (ZITF) to be held next month in Ndola.
ZITF marketing executive Moses Chitoshi said in an interview that from
the exhibitors who have confirmed participation so far, 380 were
local, while 64 were foreign.
This is according to figures tabulated as at June 14, 2014 as
preparations in readiness for the show are 70 per cent complete.
“We have 380 local and 64 foreign exhibitors who have so far confirmed
participation in this year’s ZITF and preparations have progressed
well and according to schedule,” Mr Chitoshi said.
He said there was an improvement in participation figures this
year as last year, the ZIFT attracted 411 exhibitors of which 358 were
local and 53 were international.
Mr Chitoshi disclosed that the ZITF management had refurbished the old
zoo area in the Tom Mtine arena by erecting more than 300 modern stands for
vendors.
He said this would ensure order in the trade of selected products and
attract more buyers and show-goers to the area.
Among the international exhibitors who have so far confirmed
participation are entrepreneurs under the Department of Domestic Trade
and Industry in South Africa.
This year’s ZITF will be held under the theme; “Showcasing 50 years of
Business Transformation and Development”.
