THE Patriotic Front (PF) in Choma joined by a former cabinet minister in the MMD government, Siacheye Madyenkuku, has embarked on vigorous mobilisation to strengthen party structures at the grassroots level in the district.
Mr Madyenkuku, a former youth minister, said President Sata’s administration should be appreciated for its efforts in uplifting the living standards of many Zambians across the country.
He said, since Mr Sata became President, the lives of many citizens particularly those in rural areas were positively changing as a result of his continued commitment to developing the country.
Speaking at Bombo Basic School grounds in Batoka Township during a PF party meeting attended by scores of headmen and residents, Mr Madyenkuku urged Zambians to collectively support Mr Sata’s developmental agenda.
“We have seen good efforts of our President in developing Zambia. As citizens, let’s support the Government of the day in its efforts to ensure our country achieves more development,” he said.
The former minister urged the people of Southern Province to support the head of State, saying being in opposition political parties would not accelerate development.
PF District political secretary Gloria Mapani called for hard work among party members by opening up more party branches in Batoka Ward because it was vast.
She said the mobilisation meetings were important in strengthening all party structures at the grassroots level particularly in rural parts of the district.
Ms Mapani assured Batoka residents of PF Government’s continued commitment in delivering various developments to improve their welfare.
She said the ongoing early distribution of inputs for the 2014/2015 farming season showed that the PF Government was committed to increasing the national food production.
