AN UNIDENTIFIED man in Chibombo has been brutally murdered and dumped in a well.
The body was discovered on Monday morning in a decomposed state.
Central Province police chief, Standwell Lungu said the body was found floating in the well by owner of the farm, Geoffrey Ntalasha in Kasukwe area who later reported the matter to police.
Mr Lungu said the body was retrieved by the fire brigade and that preliminary investigations revealed that the man was brutally beaten to death.
There were bruises on the body but a postmortem would be carried out to establish the cause of death.
Meanwhile, alert family members of a 23-year-old housewife who was brutally murdered last week in Mkushi, on Sunday afternoon effected a citizens’ arrest and apprehended the husband of the deceased who had disappeared shortly after the incident.
According to police, the suspect was apprehended after family members conducted a search within Mkushi after receiving information that he had been seen patronising some areas.
Mr Lungu said the suspect identified as Mulenga Chipushanya aged 37 has since been charged with murder.
