A ZIMBABWEAN man is battling for his life in Livingstone after three criminals armed with knives and iron attacked him at Natural Mistic Lodge in Simoonga area.

The criminals attacked Innocent Chifamba, 40, of Harare after breaking into his room around 01:00 hours on Tuesday.

Southern Province deputy police chief Milner Muyambango confirmed the incidence in an interview yesterday.

Mr Muyambango said the criminals stole a blackberry phone valued at K1, 700 and K2, 300 cash after attacking Mr Chifamba in his room.

“On Tuesday we received an aggravated robbery case in which Innocent Chifamba,40, of Harare, Zimbabwe, lodging at Natural Mystic Lodge in Simonga, was attacked by three unknown men who were armed with knives and iron bars,” he said.

Mr Muyambango said Mr Chifamba sustained a swollen head, a deep cut in his left hand and was also complaining of general body pains.

In a related incidence, police in Choma have apprehended three people to help with investigations into the missing K10, 000 stolen from a Chinese national’s motor vehicle.

Mr Muyambango said unknown people on Monday allegedly stole K10, 000 from a motor vehicle belonging to Hu Xixiang, of KZJ Mining Company Limited of Lusaka.

“On Monday at 23:15hours there was a theft from motor vehicle report in which Cathy Cui, a Chinese national interpreter reported on behalf of her boss Mr Hu Xixiang, of KZJ Mining Company Limited of Lusaka, that cash amounting to K10, 000 was stolen from his vehicle by unknown persons and three suspects are in custody to help with investigations,” he said.
