POLICE in Kapiri-Mposhi have arrested a 16-year-old boy who is alleged to have defiled his three-year-old step sister while her mother was away.
In another development, a Chisamba man has died after he hit into a rock while riding a motor bike.
In the Kapiri-Mposhi incident, Central Province Commissioner of Police Standwell Lungu said the girl, who was left with her step brother, was defiled around 12:00 hours yesterday at Lukanda Village.
Mr Lungu said the boy was found defiling the girl by her step mother and later reported the matter to the police.
He said police have since arrested and charged the juvenile offender for defilement and would appear in court soon.
In the Chisamba incident, Mr Lungu said the deceased only identified as Lovemore of Wangwa Farms died after hitting into a stone which flew and later fell on his head and died on arrival at Liteta District Hospital.
Mr Lungu said the accident happened after the deceased who was riding an unregistered motor bike lost control due to speeding and hit into a stone which later fell on his head.
He said the deceased sustained a deep cut on his head and that the incident happened around 15:45 hours in Mwachisopola area in Chisamba.
In another incident, police in Kapiri-Mposhi are holding a farmer who hacked his friend with a hoe after a misunderstanding.
Mr Lungu said the incident happened in Mukonchi area and identified the victim as Brian Kalunga and that police were investigating the case.
He said reasons for axing the friend were not yet established but the man suspected to have axed the friends has been picked up to help with investigations.
