The Midlands Select side completed a double over their Copperbelt counterparts winning the final 15’s national team selection trials played at the Lusaka Rugby Club.
Terry Kaushiku put up an inspiring performance to lead the midlands to a deserved victory scoring a converted try and a penalty while Beneya Mukwamba scored a penalty for the Robertson ‘Plough’ Kangongwe coached Copperbelt side.
This win for the midlands side, coached by Joshua Lungu comes barely weeks after winning the first leg 22-7 held at the Ndola Wanderers Club.
And Zambia Rugby Union (ZRU) director of coaches Innocent Sakala said 34 players have been picked in the provisional team that will be trimmed to 24 players.
The trials were held to pick a team to compete at the Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) 2014 Africa Cup Group 1C tournament to be held in Botswana from June 14 to 21.
Sakala said the list of players would be released soon and urged the players called for camp to prove themselves after being picked.
