Arts Development coordinator Kennedy Mubanga has urged journalists to consider participating in various sports activities to enable them remain healthy as they carry out their duties.
Mubanga said it was not enough for journalists to end at only writing stories but should also participate in sporting activities so that they also feel and appreciate the games while keeping healthy.
He said this in Livingstone yesterday when he handed over a football and netball to the Livingstone Press Club during the commemoration of the World Press Freedom Day.
“We feel honoured and humbled to donate the two balls to men and women
who are busy writing news every day. We want the media to keep healthy as they write news for the public,” Mubanga said.
Southern Province Minister Daniel Munkombwe received the donation on behalf of the Livingstone Press Club.
And Livingstone Press Club vice president Mercy Ngoma thanked the Ministry of Sports for the gesture. She said there was need for the media to keep exercising to enable them live healthy lives.
