The other day I was checking on the internet for what fruits could be good for one’s body.
I found a lot of useful information but I was particularly interested in the benefits of the apple, beetroot and carrot.
This was posted by Sarova Hotels of Kenya and reads:
It is like a Miracle Drink! It is simple. You need one Beetroot, one carrot and one apple that combine together to make the JUICE! Make sure they are organic.
Wash the above, cut with the skin on into pieces and put them into the juicer and immediately you drink the juice. You can add some lime or lemon for a more refreshing taste.

As I pen off, I would like to announce that the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) with other stakeholders has organised a forum dubbed the 8th INTEREST workshop, an HIV/AIDS scientific conference that has a specific focus on Africa.
I received an invitation from Cheri Reid to this important gathering and I am sure I will share with you the readers of this column on the outcome. Cheri wrote to me:

I hope this email finds you well! I wanted to inform you about an important international health event that is taking place in Lusaka.
It is called the 8th INTEREST Workshop and it is being held from the 5-9 May at the Intercontinental Hotel.
This is a HIV/AIDS scientific conference that has a specific focus on Africa.
On May 6 from 17houra to 19 hours there will be the Official Opening which will be attended by Hon. Minister of Health Dr Joseph Kasonde who will deliver a speech.
This will be followed by scientific presentations titled:
• HIV in Zambia: Dr Albert Mwango, MOH
• Key affected populations:  Dr Helen Rees, South Africa
• HIV cure research: State-of-the-Art: Dr Robert Schooley, USA
The INTEREST programme is very bulky, but there will be press copies available when you sign-in in case you are interested in attending any other sessions up to the meeting close on the 9th May.
