THEY could have parted ways, but Moses of the legendary Sakala Brothers who has remained with the rest, is seemingly unshaken as his Makowane music offering remains so easy to the ear.
Last Friday, the Sakala Brothers was trusted to musically entertain the audience at the Media Institute for Southern Africa (MISA) Media Awards held at Lusaka’s Hotel Intercontinental.
To describe the offering of the Sakala Brothers Makowane music, during the dinner period, one would not heisted but just use a single
word: splendid.
Talking of the richness of the sound, the Sakala Brothers just deserve credit as they proved beyond doubt that they have mastered the trick
of offering quality live sound.
During their offering, the Sakala Brothers paid tribute to the late legendary soccer commentator Denis Liwewe though a moving track that
featured him (Liwewe) Puteni Chimwela attracting a huge applause from the audience.
The Sakala Brothers then unleashed a track tailored for the occasion Give us the Media Freedom before expressing how honored his group
felt to be among the information disseminators who he describes as torch bearers of the nation and the world at large.
He says the Sakala Brothers have always appreciated good journalism such that events that are tailored to promote press freedom and
impartial Journalism.
The MISA Zambia Media Freedom under the theme; ‘Promoting Critical Journalism’ recognised recognising works of individual or institutions
that have made significant contribution to the promotion of media freedom in Zambia.
