POWER Dynamos coach Tennant Chilumba says Saturday’s Copperbelt derby against Zesco United in Ndola is not a big game.
The two teams meet in a first-versus-second 2014 MTN/FAZ Super League battle at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola with both sides’ 100 percent starts to the season on the line.
Chilumba said in an interview that there was nothing special about the fixture and that the two sides were very familiar with each other.
“I think it is not a big game, we have played Zesco before we know how they play so to me it is not a big game. Of course they know this too but we will definitely continue working hard to remain top of the log,” Chilumba said.
Power enjoy a three point lead over Zesco on 15 from five games played though the George Lwandamina side have played a game less.
Chilumba already holds an edge over Zesco whom Power beat 3-1 at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe on September 7 in his first encounter with the Ndola club following his appointment last June.
The two sides earlier played out to a one-all draw that season on April 20 at Levy under Chilumba’s predecessor Beston Chambeshi.
Meanwhile, Lwandamina is pleased to have Cletus Chota back after the player stormed out of the club last month.
Chota made a shock exit from Zesco in mid-March allegedly after a bust-up with Lwandamina at the end of the sides’ 2014 CAF Confederation Cup home fixture against Ferroviario Beira on March 8.
Lwandamina said the most important thing was that the player has returned and shown his commitment to play for Zesco.
Chota has now played two games since his return including Sunday’s 2-1 away win over Roan United at Arthur Davies Stadium.
“This was Cletus’s second game so far so good. He wants to work there is a lot of competition. Apologising is secondary what is important is the game time he needs.”
“Chota joined Zesco this season from Nchanga Rangers after spending the 2013 season on loan at Power Dynamos,” he said.
