THE late Mufulira District Commissioner’s husband Geoffrey Miti has described the death of his wife, Beatrice, as a big loss to the family and the community.
Mr Miti in an interview at the funeral house in Mufulira yesterday said the death of his wife was a big loss as she was the pillar of both his family and the community she lived in.
“We have lost a mother who was so generous and caring to the family and the community. I, personally, and my family depended on her. We did not expect her death as it was sudden,” he said.
Ms Miti, 57, collapsed between 21:00 and 22:00 hours on Tuesday during prayers and was rushed to Malcom Watson Hospital where she died.
She is survived by a husband and four children.
Copperbelt Permanent Secretary Stanford Msichili and some District Commissioners from the Copperbelt yesterday visited the funeral house.
Mr Msichili described the late DC as a hard working woman who his office depended on.
Mr Msichili said Ms Miti would be put to rest tomorrow at Chatulinga Cemetery in Mufulira.
The funeral church service would be held at the United Church of Zambia Central Congregation in Mufulira at 09:00 hours.
