By ELIAS CHIPEPO –
STRUGGLING Green Buffaloes today face a tough test away to MTN-FAZ Premier League leaders Power Dynamos as the action swings into Week Five.
Power lead the table with 12 points, three clear off second placed Zesco United who face a tricky encounter against Roan United at Arthur Davies Stadium which will host the double header matches.
Zanaco’s match has been postponed as their opponents Nkana, who are also the league champions, were in action against Club Athletique Bizertin of Tunisia in a CAF 2014 Confederation Cup match yesterday.
Bottom-placed and pointless Konkola Blades host troubled Kabwe Warriors in what would be the top of the bill Easter Monday clash in Chililabombwe.
Power v Buffaloes
Power look set to consolidate top position when they take on a Buffaloes side that has only managed one victory and has suffered three defeats to occupy 11th position on the log with three points.
The Tenant Chilumba side has made a 100 percent start to the season and would want to collect full points off Buffaloes to maintain early leadership of the log. Power beat Nchanga Rangers 1-0 away last weekend while Buffaloes lost 1-0 to Zesco.
Pressure will be on coach Patrick Phiri to find a winning formula before alarm bells start ringing at the army side that has a worst start to the campaign despite having the likes of the Felix duo of Katongo and Sunzu.
Roan v Zesco
Coach George Lwandamina will be expecting a much improved performance from his charges, who managed to get away with a 1-0 win over Buffaloes last weekend despite not playing that well.
This 13:00hours kick-off to be beamed live on SuperSport will see Zesco, with a game in hand, eyeing a win that can see them move level on points with Power though will need to score more than eight unanswered goals to go top.
Roan played a cautious game against Nkana in their last fixture but will need to be more attacking minded today if they are to start winning games and move out of the relegation zone.
Arrows v Nchanga
This promises to be an exciting match as both sides will be looking to collect maximum points to catch up with the leading pack. Red Arrows and Nchanga Rangers have both accumulated six points from their opening four games to trail Power by six points.
Other fixtures this afternoon sees National Assembly take on Konkola Mine Police at Woodlands Stadium in a 15:00 hours clash that will come after Napsa Stars host Nakambala Leopards at the same venue while Green Eagles play Indeni in Choma.
