‘FASHION is instant language,’ says Miuccia Prada while Michelle Obama is quoted saying, “If I can have any impact, I want women to feel good about themselves and have fun with fashion.”
Prada is the Italian fashion designer and entrepreneur behind Prada designs who recognises the fact that if one has to speak without any words, fashion should say everything.
For Africans and Zambians in particular fashion is slowly coming back home with many talented young designers launching their own designs that depict the African culture while making both women and men happy with their distinct inventions.
One such budding designer is Martha Kabaso who last Saturday evening at Taj Pamodzi hotel launched her clothing line christened
Africouture.
The young designer showcased designs made out of Chitenge materials, viscose and sach for both men and women and children alike.
Among the designs she showcased were ladies dresses, skirts and pants with shorts and pants for men also getting a knit from the young
designer.
The designs which are mainly casual were greeted with applauses from the audience that attended this rare function which was punctuated by entertainment from the musical group Future 101 and Ango Zed afro pop duo.
