A HIGH-powered delegation of Ghanaian tour operators are currently Livingstone to explore investment opportunities in tourism sector.
The delegation also hopes to create a linkage for future collaboration between Zambia and Ghana.
Zambia’s High Commissioner to Ghana Timothy Walamba, who led the delegation in Livingstone on Saturday, said it was important for African countries to collaborate on matters of development.
He said Zambia would create jobs for youths if there was more foreign investment coming into the country.
‘’We want is to bring more investors into the country. We have un-employment problems in the country as several youths have graduated from schools but cannot find jobs.
“Since Ghana had the same problem, I think they can help us know how they tackled this problem,’’ Mr Walamba said.
Mr Walamba also said that there was a Ghanaian company that was willing to invest in Zambia’s manufacturing industry and that it would create 4,000 jobs.
Ghana Tourist Development Company, Chief executive officer, Samuel Atta Mills said it was important for Africa to have multiple destinations for tourists who came to the continent.
Mr Mills said it was important for African countries to come together and market African tourism as well as promote domestic tourism.
He said Ghana was also interested in promoting Eco-tourism and partnering with Zambia in the hospitality industry as well as the development of eco-parks.
“We need to tell our own stories about Africa, if we do not, someone else will,” he said.
