THE Kitwe City Council would like to set the record straight concerning the recent land allocation exercise as opposed to what a Mr Nsofwa Mulenga alleged in the Times of Zambia of April 3, 2014.
The council advertised a total of 1,702 plots which include two commercial plots and this can be verified by Mr Nsofwa Mulenga through the adverts that were printed in the Times of Zambia, Zambia Daily Mail and The Post Newspapers of December 19, 2013.
The other point we would like to clarify is the issue of a layout plan.
A layout plan can be availed to successful applicants to choose from not what Mr Mulenga is suggesting.
The council did not print and sell 15,000 application forms as alleged by Mr Mulenga.
The total number of applications did not exceed 6,500 and these were in four categories; commercial, high, medium, and low cost residential.
The council would like to invite all those with issues that need clarity to the office of the undersigned.
Dorothy Sampa
Acting Public Relations Manager
