The letter by John Banda “Friend of the late Keagan Mumba” in the Times of Zambia Newspaper of April 7 2014, under the headline “Kalaluka misled the World” is highly misleading.
At no time did Kalaluka in his commentary, during the Napsa Stars Vs Nkana game misinform the nation that the late former Zanaco coach Keagan Mumba was called Ras because he was a Rastafarian or had dread locks.
Mr Banda should be the one to apologise firstly to Kalaluka for defaming him and secondly to the family of the late coach.
Mr Banda is free to come to the ZNBC studios or better still contact Multi Choice for a copy of the NAPSA stars Vs Nkana game and get the verbatim of what Kalaluka said.
All he said was that Keagan was born Ras Mumba but his name was later changed to Keagan named after a well known United Kingdom-based footballer then.
Let us not rush to the media when we are not sure of things. Seek clarifications before you put pen to paper.
On the alleged poor commentaries by Kalaluka, to the contrary, Kaluluka has over the years proved to be one of the best TV commentators that this country has ever produced.
Super Sport, being an outfit of international repute was not going to lower their standards by engaging commentators who are below par.
In addition, ZNBC has been inviting people with that rare talent to come on board provided these commentators are auditioned and they will have an opportunity of doing commentaries for both Radio and Television.
