IT takes more measures to repair the MMD family than dismissing its Members of Parliament (MPs).
It is not a matter of responding to emotional insecurity on the part of its top leadership that will save the party.
Most of these MPs have put a united front in the face of hardships hitting this embattled party.
To put forth a face-saving reason of dismissing some MPs on the pretext that they are serving in Government will not help the leadership crisis in MMD.
This is a very serious negative reaction to healing a breach. In fact dismissing prominent members of MMD will only make matters worse.
The only solution is to listen to the voice of its owners and show loyalty to its constitution.
If going to the extra-ordinary convention is constitutional and financiers of MMD do not see any problem with it, then why not do it so as to settle the dust?
But if the party president Nevers Mumba and his loyal members are shivering every time there is a mention of a convention for the party simply because they fear becoming jobless and they are doing everything to block it-including inducing artificial discipline to scare away ‘mosquitoes’ of their president, then the party will vapourise!
